WHAT TRAINING LOOKS LIKE
Every class follows the same structure: a movement-based warm-up, technique instruction broken down step by step, positional drilling with a partner, and live rolling for anyone who wants it. New students are paired with experienced training partners and are never thrown into hard sparring on their first night.
Coach Kodie teaches under the lineage of Helio Gracie, Royler Gracie, Saulo Ribeiro, Philip Wyman, and Shurron Thompson, so what you learn is grounded in self-defense fundamentals as well as sport technique.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Do I need a gi to start?
No. Wear athletic clothes without zippers or pockets for your first class. We will tell you when it is time to buy a gi.
I have never trained before. Is that a problem?
Most people who walk in have never grappled. Classes are taught in layers so beginners drill the fundamentals while experienced students add detail.
How old do you have to be for adult BJJ?
Adult classes are for ages 13 and up. Kids ages 6 to 12 train in our separate kids BJJ program.
